Christopher Vargas, LUTCF®, is a comprehensive financial planner and President & Chief Benefits Strategist of Atlas Benefits Advisor, with nearly two decades of specialized experience empowering employees of K-12 schools, teachers, and other nonprofit organizations to build lasting financial security. Since 2004, Chris has dedicated his career to guiding these devoted "nonprofit heroes"—including teachers, school employees, healthcare workers, and other nonprofit professionals—in fully leveraging their workplace benefit plans. He transforms often-underutilized opportunities into essential building blocks for secure retirement, robust asset protection, and long-term financial well-being.

Chris employs a holistic, client-centered approach to financial planning. He excels at uncovering and addressing hidden risks, clarifying personal financial goals, evaluating risk tolerance, safeguarding assets, strategically reducing debt, and implementing proven tactics to enhance cash flow and income.

A proud alumnus of Stony Brook University, where he earned his degree in English Literature, Chris is also a graduate of Xaverian High School in Brooklyn. He has been happily married to his wife, Christina, since 2008, and together they are raising three wonderful children: Ava Giselle, Christopher John Philip, and Atticus Benjamin Henry.

Deeply rooted in the Shoreham-Wading River community on Long Island, Chris gives back through volunteer coaching for the North Shore Little League, the Long Island Sound Sharks football program, and basketball for the SWR community program. He previously served with distinction as President of the Greater Mastic Beach Chamber of Commerce.

In his downtime, Chris cheers passionately for the New York Mets and New York Giants. A lifelong enthusiast of storytelling, he particularly enjoys classic 1960s anthology series like The Twilight Zone. His collections reflect a love for pop culture, including Star Wars memorabilia, vintage toys, and cherished items from Marvel and DC Comics.
